Groupe Cartier’s role

Cabinetmaker, Miralis built-in furniture

Located on the prestigious Sherbrooke Street, in the heart of Montreal, this project showcases custom Miralis furniture designed and built by Groupe Cartier as cabinetmaker. A true landmark thoroughfare of the city, Sherbrooke Street is renowned for its rich architectural heritage, institutional buildings, distinctive residences and central role in Montreal’s urban and cultural development since the 19th century.

The challenge

In this unique setting, the mandate was to design and build custom built-in furniture that is timeless, functional and perfectly suited to the existing architecture. The challenge: deliver cabinetry of great rigour, capable of fitting precisely into an exceptional urban setting, without compromising on quality or on the consistency of its lines.

Our approach

A precision craftsmanship approach

Every element was conceived with a precision craftsmanship approach, where clean lines, controlled volumes and fine materials interact with natural light and the proportions of the space. The furniture is not simply added to the room: it extends its architecture. The island with its light-toned counter and the full-height backsplash open the kitchen onto large windows and a herringbone wood floor.

Miralis craftsmanship quality

Miralis furniture stands out for the exceptional quality of its construction, the refinement of its details and the consistency of its joinery. The transitions between surfaces, the invisible technical integrations and the personalized storage solutions reflect a search for balance between aesthetics and everyday performance. The appliances disappear behind integrated fronts.

An exceptional address

Beyond the furniture itself, the project takes full advantage of an exceptional address. The open views of the city and Mount Royal, the abundant natural light and the generous proportions of the space guided every design decision, so that the custom cabinetry would respond as much to the interior architecture as to the surrounding urban landscape.

A true extension of the living space

The whole reflects a sustainable vision of design, where custom-built furniture becomes a true extension of the living space. This project illustrates Groupe Cartier’s expertise in high-end cabinetry, capable of delivering work of great rigour, perfectly suited to exceptional urban settings such as Sherbrooke Street.

What was delivered

From design to workshop templates, then fabrication and final installation, Groupe Cartier delivered all of this project’s custom built-in furniture as cabinetmaker. A result that combines artisanal precision, fine materials and rigorous execution, worthy of one of Montreal’s most iconic thoroughfares.
