This project was completed in collaboration with general contractor Est Ouest and the architects at Atelier Schleiss Carter, through a coordinated process where architecture, millwork, and execution come together seamlessly. It reflects Groupe Cartier’s expertise in high-end custom cabinetry, delivering refined, durable, and context-driven solutions perfectly suited to exceptional natural environments.
Located on the shores of Lac de l’Achigan in Saint-Hippolyte, this residential project features a complete renovation including a custom kitchen, a built-in banquette with panoramic lake views, living spaces, a bedroom, an entryway unit, and various custom cabinetry elements, designed and crafted by Groupe Cartier in its role as cabinetmaker.
Lac de l’Achigan is one of the oldest recreational lake destinations in the Laurentians, having contributed to the region’s development since the early 20th century. Valued for its natural beauty, peaceful setting, and close connection to the surrounding forest, the lake continues to inspire residential architecture focused on light, views, and a seamless relationship between interior spaces and nature.
Within this setting, the custom millwork was conceived as a natural extension of the architecture, creating a strong dialogue with the landscape. The kitchen serves as the heart of the home, combining clean volumes, durable materials, and integrated storage solutions that support both functionality and visual clarity. The custom banquette, oriented toward the lake, transforms the view into a central architectural feature, encouraging moments of pause and contemplation.
The living areas and bedroom incorporate bespoke furniture designed specifically for each space, offering discreet storage, refined proportions, and carefully selected finishes. The custom entryway unit structures the arrival into the home while providing elegant and practical storage solutions consistent with a fully tailored approach.
