High-End Interior Renovation in a Former Factory on the Plateau-Mont-Royal
Turnkey Project – Design and Construction by Groupe Cartier
Located in the heart of Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal, within a former factory converted into a residential space, this complete high-end interior renovation blends industrial character with contemporary design. The project includes the transformation of two bathrooms, a staircase, a kitchen, a bedroom, and a dining room, featuring custom high-end Miralis cabinetry and furniture as well as custom fluted glass doors by Costal, a Quebec-based manufacturer.
Delivered turnkey by Groupe Cartier, acting as both general contractor and interior designers, the project was designed to preserve the building’s industrial heritage while adapting it to a refined, modern lifestyle. Particular attention was given to existing volumes, natural light and the architectural identity typical of former industrial buildings.
The kitchen showcases custom Miralis cabinetry, known for its craftsmanship, clean lines and durability. Premium materials and seamless appliance integration create a refined balance between warmth and architectural rigor.
The dining room, defined by custom Miralis furniture, serves as an elegant gathering space in direct continuity with the kitchen.
The bedroom stands out through the integration of custom fluted glass doors by Costal, which softly diffuse natural light while maintaining privacy. These architectural elements strengthen the dialogue between the building’s industrial past and a contemporary, refined aesthetic.
Both bathrooms were fully redesigned to provide calm, functional and durable spaces, while the staircase, a key circulation element, was reimagined to ensure a seamless transition between levels and overall visual coherence.
